Do You Know These Common Certification Standards for Wheels?? | JWHEEL

At present, the international popular safety certification has the United States DOT/SFI;  Germany TUV;  VIA/JWL, Etc.  These certification bodies in the formulation of the concept and evaluation criteria are slightly different, but are not without these 3 experiments, namely: impact test, bending fatigue test and radial fatigue test. JWHEEL products have been certified by SEI and SEMA in the USA, VIA, JWL and JWL-T in Japan and TUV in Germany. Especially our impact resistance testing skill has exceeded the leading technical standards in Japan.

What is the first key factor that comes to mind before upgrading your car's wheels?  Size, style, craft?  Of course these are very important, but there is one thing you can not ignore, that is the quality of the wheel itself, after all, the car wheel is related to the safety of the vehicle.  But a lot of people feel confused about the safety certification standards of the domestic wheel hub, today is a brief introduction for you.

1. United States: DOT/SFI

DOT stands for U.S. Department of Transportation. SFI is the U.S. Auto Parts trade organization.  All wheels entering the U.S. for sale must be DOT certified.

DOT certification requires wheel hub in bending load endurance test and radial load endurance test, 500,000 RPM shall not produce new cracks, old cracks shall not continue to grow;  During impact tests, cracks or deformations shall not occur during 30 and 90 degree impact tests.

2. Japan VIA/JWL

Full name is Japan Vehicle Inspection Association VIA Laboratory certification.  JWL is the certification mark of Japan aluminum alloy rim testing organization.

VIA standard represents the wheel after 2 million RPM ultra high quality testing;  JWL means that the hub has been tested for 500,000rpm quality, so the hub tested by VIA has a higher quality grade.

3. German TUV certification

TUV is a German quality standard certification body.

In the TUV test, it is required that in the bending fatigue endurance test and the radial fatigue endurance test, the hub shall not crack at 1 million revolutions, and the screw torque shall not be reduced by more than 30%; in the impact test, cracks shall not occur and shall not appear within one minute. Tire pressure decreased. It can be seen that Germany's TUV test standards are the most stringent.
