It is estimated that the BMW Group purchases around 10 million light-alloy wheels each year, 95 percent of which are made of cast aluminum. The production of these wheels accounts for about 5 percent of the carbon emissions of the BMW Group's entire supply chain. The use of green energy will make its production process more in line with the concept of sustainable development, which can reduce carbon emissions by more than 50%.
